BIKE ADDICT's derestriction services are backed by the expertise of
the owner, Sarel, a qualified electronics engineer with over 40
years of experience in both electronics and motorcycles. Sarel has
personally developed and designed advanced derestrictor modules
for most makes and models of motorcycles. This technical
foundation ensures safe, reliable performance enhancements
tailored to each individual bike.

also offers a full suite of performance modification services
aimed at improving efficiency, power and responsiveness. Our dyno tuning and ECU mapping services are conducted using
industry-standard equipment, allowing for precise calibration

In 2001 the Japanese started with the 300 kilometer per hour speed
restriction. Most of the big bikes that were capable of doing
300 plus were restricted.
My personal bike was a ZX 12 R and so
my first derestrictor was for the Kawa. In the restricted form,
the bike will hit a rev limiter on a lower rpm than it would do
in the lower gears. Different manufacturers do it in different
ways. There are also some grey imports and cruisers that are
restricted to a lower speed than the capability of the bike.
Some are for certain laws in countries and others are for safety
purposes where bikes are not designed for high speed.
I
design and manufacture the derestrictors for most of the popular
bikes. The onus is then on the rider to use the bike with safety
and precaution.
